Welcome to Our Blog

Our Day ~ Country Fair Blog Hop!

Today is our day!

Can’t wait to show you all the things we have been working on for the fair!

We will be entering some of our soon to be prize winning vegetables this year.

Can any body beat this Zucchini?

Can you imagine all the bread this guy is going to make!

After the fair I plan on making the biggest Jack O Lantern in the world.

We are also working on a hybrid jelly roll …

This isn’t my first time entering things in the fair …

My first project ever … a beautiful clay wiener dog wall plaque. I was about 10 years old. I got a green Honorable Mention ribbon and thought I was Picasso!

I used to have it hanging over my kitchen sink … but everyone made so much fun of itย  … that it now lives in my sewing room.

No trip to the fair would be complete with out FAIR FOOD!

… and Mary’s personal favorite is the Cotton Candy!!

These are our special cows … we have been raising them since birth in Mary’s backyard.

Thinking about entering Mary in the fair too … oops! I mean Mary’s COW!

I really hope that she does not see this post … it must stink to be the younger sister … especially when you have an older one like me!

She really is a good sport and a constant source of inspiration!!

My secret guilty pleasure at the fair is Face Painting …

Can’t get enough of it!! Just kidding again!!

To celebrate all the crafting shown at the fair … Mary and I have a quick and easy project to share …

Napkins Rings!

To download your free copy of this project … go to our website here then just click and print.

These are great if you are packing a picnic lunch to eat at the fair …ย  just roll colorful plastic silverware with oversize napkins and fasten with a napkin ring.

After you open them up they can be used as glass markers!

Make a set or two for hostess gifts … or for holidays.

To see a U Tube video of our napkin ring presentation at Quilt Market click here.

Now for the really good stuff and something that has been on my bucket list forever …

The Pie Eating Contest!!

Ready Set GO!!

You go I go …

What a mess!

I guess I deserved that!!!

To celebrate all country fairs everywhere we will be giving away some of our new “Amelia” fabric pre cuts to 6 lucky winners …

2 layer cakes … 2 jelly rolls … 2 fat eighth bundles!!

Just leave a comment below telling us what you would like to enter in the country fair OR which cow is wearing Mary’s necklace … and you could be a lucky winner!

The winners will be chosen sometime on Friday September 16th. Good luck to all!

Don’t forget to visit Camille Roskelley at Thimbleblossoms tomorrow … September 9th!

And be sure to visit Anne Sutton at Bunny Hill Designs for yesterdays fun.

I have insider information on Camille’s project and you are going to LOVE it!

See you at the fair!!

I am having so much fun at the blog fair. I would enter a photograph or maybe some stitching. Not sure. Your fabric is so much fun. I have two little nieces who would absolutely love some special surprise. Thank you for the great project. Angela

I would love to enter some sort of photograph in a fair. I think that would be fun, but I have a long way to go on my photography skills before I’d be close to winning anything. Same goes for quilting. But I have fun doing both of them either way. =) Thanks for doing a giveaway!
