Mary and I received an email and letter recently from a shop collecting pillowcases for a local program called “Adopt-A Pillowcase for a Soldier”.
Each month they offer a free class on how to make a pillowcase and then donate the pillowcases to a national organization called “Heads at Ease”.
They have asked for a pillowcase to raffle off at the shop to help offset the costs of shipping. Sounds like a wonderful idea so Mary and I got to work and made a set of pillowcases from our new LOL fabrics!
Tickets will sell for $1 each and at the end of May they will select a winner for each pillowcase.
If you would like to make a pillowcase to raffle or donate please contact the shop. They would like your pillowcases mailed by April 28th. So take a few minutes out of your busy week and make a pillowcase for a soldier!
If you need a pillowcase pattern there is a free one on our website. Just click on the “free pattern” button upper left on this screen and find the “Dilly Dally Pillowcase”. Their goal is to make 300 pillowcases! We’re shipping ours out this week!
Thanks for this wonderful way to help honor our soldiers!
