Designer Mystery Blog Tour ~ 2014!

DM-Header2014

Welcome to the blog hop!

DM-Quilt-6

Mary and I are so proud to be a part of this wonderful Fat Quarter Shop celebration!

The theme of the 2014 Designer Mystery quilt is stars and the quilting stars in our lives. I know this sounds totally sappy BUT the star in my quilting life is my Sister Mary!

Nun_Mary

Sister Mary is the person responsible for my quilting life!

She is the person who made me quit my real job and open a quilt shop. I remember her calling me just about everyday asking if I’d put in my notice yet so we could start opening the store. I am so glad that she was a pest and kept at it, otherwise I would still be taking x rays of people in their pajamas rather than working in MY pajamas, at least the pants part most days!

I wish I could show you my sister inspired block, but alas that would spoil the mystery!

You’llĀ  just have to settle for this teaser photo everyone else has also been using.

The beautiful fabrics in this star inspired quilt are designed by one of our Moda quilting pals, Edyta from Laundry Basket Quilts. If you have ever had the chance to meet Edyta or take one of her classes you know she is a quilting super star.

These fabrics are so beautiful!

I hope that you decide to join in on the fun and be a part of this awesome quilt! Just think how much fun it will be waiting for the “Sister Mary” block to arrive from the Fat Quarter Shop!

I love that you are two sisters working together! My sister and I had dreams of being together in our old age, but I lost her 4 years ago at the age of 44 to a heart attack. Love your patterns and happy fabrics!!

  24. It’s ok to be sappy about admiring your sister! I love this line of Edyta’s so much, and I love stars…can’t think of a better inspiration….well, unless the fabrics were from one of your lines :)
Just so you know, it was really hard for me to type this because I keep falling off my chair…a nun outfit? Which of you thought of that one LOL?

  25. Jean C. says:
