Welcome to Charm Pack Cherry Day!
We’re celebrating another great new free pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop!
I’ve decided to make my quilt from our new “Hubba Hubba” fabric group …
I started with 2 charm packs and cut 72 white 5 inch squares.
I only need 72 charm squares, so lets get rid of the duplicates and the black prints first.
Just because I feel like it!
I’ve also decided to sew the charm squares right off the top of the packs. No mixing them up or re arranging! Use them as they lay …
I’m being so brave! I’m thinking since the quilt blocks get cut up and put back together again, I really don’t need to fuss about choosing colors. I’m loving this new found freedom!
Starting my blocks …
2 different sets of Nine Patches made …
Lets cut “em’ up …
And sew “em” back together again!
Quilt top finished in a flash!
I always sew around the finished quilt top about an 8th of an inch from the outer edge. This stops any seams from popping open when the quilter stretches my quilt on her longarm machine. I think she loves me for this, at least that’s what I like to think!
There is hardly any trash in my wastebasket either, just those few discarded charm squares at the beginning and thread. No waste on this quilt!
This is my cute Charm Pack Cherry Quilt made with Hubba Hubba charm packs!
I think I might use it as a tablecloth for awhile … but NOT on spaghetti night!
Our quilter Sharon Elsberry did a fantastic job quilting whimsical flowers in all the white squares.
To get your free pattern visit the Fat Quarter Shop today! All charm packs are also 20 percent off!
Maybe I’ll make another tonight after I watch the tutorial just for fun
Have a charming day!
