You’ve been seeing this picture a lot lately and might be wondering why I’m shouting “Ahoy” while showing you a picture of an airplane …
Well, Mary and I are off on another adventure!
We are traveling to our Stitchin’ Heaven Moda cruise!
Keep busy until we get home again with lots of new stories!
Today is a special day!
One to celebrate all those hard working quilt shops that are there for us whenever we need them!
Show your support by stopping by your favorite quilt shop today and pick up a few fat quarters.
You are vital to the life of your local quilt shop.
Lets all show them some love!
It’s coming soon!
Mark your calenders for this fun event!
Join the Moda designers for a Friendship blog hop!
We will be sharing friendship block patterns along with some fun stories and prizes! Each day visit 3 Moda designer blogs as they share a 9 inch friendship block. Collect all the blocks! Have a look at this new special issue of Australian Quilters Companion magazine!
We have a pattern on pages 14 thru 19 called Jelly Roll Party …
Did you know that the jelly roll was introduced by Moda at the October 2007 Quilt Market in Houston? These 2.5 inch strips of fabric are now almost as popular as the fat quarter!
There’s a profile on us that follows our pattern on pages 20 thru 24!
All the patterns in the magazine are made using pre cuts, so this issue may be for you if pre cuts are your thing.
Thanks to Clare!
Hugs from around the world … Barb
Some friends have been telling me that one of our “Strawberry Lemonade” fabrics is used on a dress in the movie …
So I bought a copy and invited a few quilty friends to check it out.
I have to admit it looks like it could be …
5 out of 6 quilters in the room were sure that it is …
I’m the 6th, the only hold out. I want it to be true so badly!
Mary is 99 percent sure.
What do you think?
Could this dress be made using our “Strawberry Lemonade” fabrics?
I know the dots are not visible on the dress … but at a distance they really do blend in and can’t be seen.
The lighting is different too, so that adds to my dilemma.
What do you think?? Crossing my fingers that it’s true!
I want to believe … Help!
Our good friend, Lynne Hagmeier over at Kansas Troubles Quilters has a new book …
It’s called “Loose Change” and she introduced it this past Quilt Market in Houston.
Well who would have thought that Lynne would be able to use our bright fabrics in one of her books? After all … we use COMPLETELY different colors! But she managed to do it and do it well. Proof is on page 66 …
The quilt is called 2 Bits, 4 Bits and is absolutely darling!
It’s made using Moda pre cuts and a unique technique that Lynne has developed. She claims that this quilt top can be finished in about 4 hours and for under $70!
Sign me up!
Thanks Lynne for adding our fabrics to your new book!
Visit Lynne’s website today and get your copy. Mine is not going anywhere!
Mary and I will be out of the office for a few days doing another fun retreat in Savannah!
See you in a few …
Our “Ticklish” fabrics have shipped to a quilt shop near you!
They’re fun and bright and just waiting for you to make something new. To view all the fabric swatches visit our website here.
The first of the fun new quilts we have designed to go with the group are … “Vista 1 and Vista 2″!
You get both of these quilt patterns in the Vista booklet. I really like this combination of geometric quilts. Both are made using layer cakes.
I love the way out quilter, Sharon Elsberry quilted these whimsical hearts into the design.
We also have 2 more quilt projects in our new “T is for Ticklish” pattern booklet …
Big T and Little t!
Big T uses a larger 4.5 x 8.5 inch piece of fabric at the base of the T, this would be the perfect opportunity to cut up some old t shirts and turn this fun project into a t shirt memory quilt.
I love incorporating simple embroidery into my quilts and had a great time with the border on Little t …
But if you don’t want to make a quilt, you could always make a few of these with some jelly rolls …
The new patterns are ready to ship NOW!
I know the Juliet pattern is not so new but we added her into the mix because she is celebrating her 3rd birthday as a best seller! Yep she’s 3 … how time flies when your having fun!
So get busy planning!
Hope your feeling Ticklish!
Fresh off the fabric press, “Ticklish” Designer Select Bundles have shipped to the Fat Quarter Shop and are ready for you to own! Mary and I picked some of our favorite prints from this group for this exclusive bundle. Since Mary’s favorite color is pink, it was a struggle to limit the bundle to 3 pinks!
Visit the fun gals over at the Fat Quarter Shop today to find out a bit about our newest Moda group … Ticklish!
The girls had us answer some questions about the group and have a contest going to see if you can spot our lie.
See how well your inner “lie detector” works and you might win a bundle.
May the force be with you … Barb
I recently received this email from Cindy …
“I am one of your followers and always enjoy your blog. I am asking for help for a friend. She is trying to collect homemade pillowcases for the children from the Sandy Hook Elementary School. She wants to collect 600 and is having a hard time finding people to participate. It is a very worthwhile project and I am hoping you could link to her sign up. You have so many great followers who might be willing and able to join in this cause.”
It just so happens that I have 16 pillowcases just lying around!
Mary and I usually make 2 pillowcases to display in our Quilt Market booth every time we attend.
These pillowcases have been stacked in my closet just waiting for the perfect opportunity to help!
If you would like to help Cindy and her friend by donating a pillowcase or two, please visit the link here for the sign up and shipping information. I know every donation will be appreciated.
Make sure to visit the American Patchwork and Quilting website and add your pillowcase donation to the tally!
If you need a pillowcase pattern, there is a free pattern available on our website here.
Sending our 16 pillowcases out today!
Sweet Dreams to these kids … Barb
