Ahh Choo!

Just checking in … so you don’t think I fell off the face of the earth.

I’ve been down with an old fashioned cold for the last few days!
I have lots of things to tell you about … but it will have to wait for another day or two until this cold goes away.

Another tissue please!

Moda Market Roll Call …

Here it is!
The traditional “after market designer booth” roll call!

I try to do this after every quilt market. If you recall last time I had a camera malfunction and was not able to get all the pictures I had wanted. Believe it or not, my camera was still in the shop waiting on parts for this market. But I was able to borrow my husbands camera to bring along this time.

I wanted to freshen things up this time and not do so many of those “posed” pictures. The theme this time is “action” shots!

Maybe this is a BAD idea … I am not that good with regular shots, especially when using a different camera … you be the judge!

Lets start here at Me and My Sister Designs …

A rare “action” shot of Mary looking a bit orange and kicking some trash under our table rather than pick it up.

Next stop is Sandy Klop and American Jane …

She was always so busy and kept turning her head away from me.

Third stop around the block is Jan Patek.

I caught this cute photo when her husband Pep surprised her with a new pin.

Over to Sweetwater on the corner!

This darling picture of laughing Lisa is minus her mom Karla. Guess she was missing in “action” shopping?

Blackbird Designs is next …

And an “action” shot of Alma’s swinging leg.

Or maybe you would prefer this picture of Barb’s hair falling in her face.

Edyta from Laundry Basket Quilts …

Vibrating her typical energy to everything around her so that this picture seems out of focus? Come to think of it, I think most of these photos look fuzzy.

Then onto Kathy Schmitz …

Licking her lips or sticking out her tongue at me?

And Lynne at Kansas Troubles …

She is gonna love this “action” shot with her mouth wide open.

Bunny Hill on another corner …

And the famous hide the name on your name badge stance.

Deb Strain of Saltbox Illustrations …

Missing in “action” and her cute Mom babysitting the booth.

And last but not least, Minick and Simpson …

And Laurie mastering her famous sleepwalking technique.

I think I’d better hope my camera is fixed by next market and go back to the traditional “posed” photos.

I should also probably watch my back when around the other designers?

Quilt Market!

Well Mary and I are home again from our retreat in Florida! With only a week or so between market and the retreat we have been BUSY girls! I finally have a few minutes to show you some of the fun we had at market.

Our booth …

Mary and I have been wanting to do a Halloween themed booth for years, but our bright fabrics don’t really go well with blood and guts. I finally found some decorations that were appropriate! I wrapped these ladies with jelly roll strips. It took about 1.5 jelly rolls to complete each mummy.

And what mummy would be complete without some mummy bling?

Add some gloomy flickering candles …

Some scary spiders crawling around on the T is for Ticklish quilts …

And more on the new Vista quilts …

Bones on spider web table runners …

And a friendly rat on our block that will be featured this February on the Moda Designer Blog Hop!

It all added up to a wonderful time at Quilt Market in Houston.

It was fun to play off a Halloween theme and work in our bright colors.

More market and retreat stuff on the way … Barb

My Favorite Color Is Moda …

That was the “blue ribbon winning” theme at the Moda booth this past Quilt Market in Houston!

The booth was so creative and colorful! I absolutely love the table covers with the Pantone color swatches!

And the “paint dripping” chair covers …

Check out the hanging paint sticks!

Hundreds of them hung from the top of the booth. I know for a fact that this project took weeks to complete, but worth every drop of paint. Don’t forget to notice the “paint can top dots” on every corner of the booth too.

During shipment many of the strings became tangled. The team spent hours untangling and getting them just right for the show.

Every small detail was perfect. Check out these paint cans …

I love the added touch of the colorful paint brushes!

Color was everywhere!

Even in this group shot of the Moda sales persons …

And the Notions side of the booth …

The smiling ladies of United Notions …

Some “Ticklish” pictures to come!

I love color!
